Hard Requirements

  • 1-3 years of working experience in finance / accounting related roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in business / finance / accounting
  • Fluent in French, English and Dutch


Soft Requirements

  • Excellent analytical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and Understanding of GAAP, IFRS
  • Experience using accounting systems (Navision preferred)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Background coordinating with I.T. staff to manage and/or upgrade accounting system. Systems implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in the food industry


Profile of the role


  • Assist the Belgium finance manager in fulfilling his role and responsibilities, which include the following:
    • Managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic
    • Work within the Global Finance Team to roll out the company strategic plans and agenda
    • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for board of directors and other external authorities
    • Business Performance and Optimization
    • Accounting, Internal Controls and Administration
    • Updating weekly cash flow forecast
    • Invoice review and approvals
    • Preparing payment runs, ensuring good Accounts Payable management
    • Create financial models allowing to accurately study performance trends for accurate decision making
    • Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team
    • Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization regarding long term operational goals, budgets and forecasts
    • Review and analyze monthly financial results and assess future risks and opportunities
    • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget
    • Develop and supervise the creation of enterprise reporting, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting
    • Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks
    • Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information
    • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
    • Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases and financial software
    • Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly and annual financial statements
    • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all tax returns
    • Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal compliance
    • Lead all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation; reviewing procedures to improve efficiencies
    • Oversee weekly cash management; oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables teams
    • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
    • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits
